Fund-raising Organizations
The New Rochelle Public Library is fortunate to have three organizations that raise the funds needed to keep the library up-to-date and active with enriching programs:
New Rochelle Public Library Foundation
New Rochelle Public Library Foundation is made up of community volunteers with a shared belief that libraries have the power to change people's lives.
The Foundation is committed to working together to:
• Fund initiatives that expand library capabilities and modernize facilities.
• Ensure the library remains a vital educational and cultural center in our diverse community.
• Build an endowment of $1 million to secure a stable financial future for the library.
• Supplement traditional services with educational offerings and enhancements.
• Raise awareness of library service needs and lobby for their funding.
The Foundation seeks partnership with individuals, foundations, and businesses to achieve these critical, ambitious, yet achievable goals.
Friends of the Library
Become a Member of the Friends of the Library at a minimum cost of $5.00 per year and receive the monthly mailing of the Friends Newsletter, and program flyers and calendars that list all upcoming events, children’s programs, classes, concerts and other library activities. The Friends of the Library is a totally volunteer, non-profit organization that supports the interests of the library in public and governmental meetings; raises money from membership dues and book sales to fund a variety of programs and activities in the library; runs a Book Store (link to the Friends Book Store under programs) on the first floor of the library, selling quality used books; conducts Monthly Book Sales (link to Friends Book Sales under programs) of hardcover and paperback books, gift books, videos, DVDs, and other quality used materials, in the library lobby; and accepts donations of books, videos, dvds, etc… in good condition.
Partnership for the Huguenot Children’s Library
The Partnership for the Huguenot Children's Library is dedicated to inspiring a life-long love of reading and learning through outstanding library services for all of the children of New Rochelle; the PHCL works to enhance the excellence of the Huguenot Children's Library and to promote and advocate for exceptional children's library services within the New Rochelle Public Library system. General Gifts and Donations
The New Rochelle Public Library welcomes monetary contributions specifically for book purchases in memorial or to honor named individuals. In addition, the Library welcomes cash contributions, gifts of real property, stocks, and bonds. It is the Library's custom to expend cash gifts on materials, equipment, or a project that is acceptable to the donor. There may be an occasion in which the restrictions set by the donor make it impossible for the Library to accept the contribution. All donations are subject to the approval of the Library Director with final acceptance granted by the Library Board of Trustees
